Day 1 – September 12

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.  The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2 ESV

There is no better place to start this journey.   The Holy Spirit was present then.   And He is with each of us today.

Each new beginning in our lives brings anticipation, refreshment, promise and even trepidation.  It could be a new relationship, a new job, a new school year or a new project.  However, as in the creation narrative in Genesis each beginning is shaped by God with purpose and life lessons to learn.

Today is the beginning of a special project for our Church family.  In twenty-one days we’ll begin a continuous reading of the Bible.  Each of us has a role to play.

Heavenly Father, I pray that our entire Church community comes along on this journey with me.  Let the Spirit guide me to step out and into the part that You want me to fill, be it reader, safety, host volunteer or prayer warrior.  Lord, hover over our Church and this project.  Amen.
