What is the Gospel?

God
He is the creator and sustainer of everyone and everything. He is eternal,
infinite, and unchangeable in his power and perfection, goodness and glory,
wisdom, justice, and truth. Nothing happens except through him and by his will.

Man[kind]
We are accountable to God who created us and loves us.

Sin
Mankind has rebelled and broken God’s law (this is called sin) and we will
be justly punished by Him eternally because God is perfect and just, and we are
not.

Problem
Our sins cannot be removed by our good deeds. We can do nothing to
save ourselves from this eternal punishment (Hell).

Solution
The only solution to humanity’s sin is the work of Jesus’ sacrificial
death on the cross, where He fully paid the punishment for our sins, and the work
of His resurrection, where He fully conquered death on our behalf. This is what
gives us the opportunity for eternal life.

Turn
Anyone who receives this gift of salvation in repentance (asking
forgiveness and turning to God’s way) and belief (in this “good news”) are saved
from God’s just punishment. This response to God’s gift, gives us the promise of
Heaven with Him, who loves us, for all eternity.
