God began stirring in the leadership of North Pointe Church a desire to create an environment specifically targeted to the unique needs of preteens. We understand that nine through twelve year olds are going through a very important time of their lives. They are facing a lot of changes physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. It is essential during this time frame that preteens embrace a new level of faith ownership.
We offer a unique transitional ministry specifically built for preteens. Our 4th, 5th, and 6th Graders have their own worship experience that will prepare them to transition into the student ministry. Our preteens start out every week in the main service for worship. They sit together in rows with their leaders. This gives the kids an opportunity to join the corporate worship setting and experience authentic live worship as they connect with God. Before the sermon starts, the group slips out together to their classroom, where they spend about 40 minutes doing a highly interactive lesson written specifically for preteens. They make vital connections with their peers and with caring leaders who are passionate about discipling kids in this specific phase of their lives.
