LOCAL SUMMER MISSION SERVE CAMP
Why should my student participate? This is a great opportunity for students of all ages to have a MISSION TRIP/SUMMER CAMP experience without leaving town! Our desire is to give students an experience that will fuel a passion for sharing the love of Jesus in their everyday lives. Jesus commands us to “Go & make disciples…” and He also commands to “Love your neighbor.” Mission Tampa will fulfill both of these commands while helping middle and high school students see the needs right in our own communities and see how God can work in them and through them to impact the world.
When can I sign up? NOW! The Last day to signup is June 17th, but signup soon as you can. Spaces are limited.
Who is included? All students who have completed 6th-12th grade are invited to participate.
Where are we serving? VBS each morning at First Baptist Church in Tarpon Springs, 1021 Gulf Rd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. Mornings we will be serving at the church, FBC Tarpon Springs helping lead the VBS. A detailed schedule will be provided to parents before the trip. Afternoons will be spent hanging out and some free time at the local beaches/parks near by and evenings we, (MISSION TAMPA), will be spent in a camp/youth service style worship experience. MISSION TAMPA, will be reaching out into the community inviting other M.S. and H.S. students to come join for these worship services each night.
Where are we sleeping? The entire group will be staying at the First Baptist Church Tarpon Springs, 1021 Gulf Rd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. Girls & boys will have separate, secured sleeping rooms, and bathroom/shower areas. There is also a large common area for hanging out, devotions, group worship and meetings in the evenings.
Where/What are we eating? All meals will be at FBC Tarpon Springs.
What about transportation? Students will meet/dropped off at First Baptist Church Tarpon Springs, 1021 Gulf Rd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 at 7:00 PM on Sunday June 25th. Transportation for the week will be personal vehicles and leaders from NPC. All drivers are background checked adults. Students will be picked up from First Baptist Church Tarpon Springs, 1021 Gulf Rd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689 on Friday June 30th around 9 PM.
Really…a week’s worth of meals, supplies & FUN DAY for only $150? YES! God has provided in many ways to allow this to be low cost to your family and at the same time impactful, fun, memorable and life-changing for your student. The only money needed is if your students want extra spending money for our fun day.
Do they have to spend the night? Do they have to go the entire week? We are making every effort for this week to have a full Mission Trip experience, so spending the night and participating the entire week is part of that experience! Because we are local, we understand some students work and have other obligations but would like participate when they can. Prior arrangements can be made and approved on a case by case basis.
What do they need to pack? Sleeping bag/bedding/blankets, pillow, optional air mattress, shorts & t-shirts for 5 days (finger length shorts or longer, no tank tops), closed toe shoes, toiletries, towels, sunscreen, Bible, pen, notebook, optional snacks.
What do they need to leave at home? Anything dangerous, illegal, or stupid. Handheld gaming systems, laptops, tablets, or gaming systems. Cell phones are allowed for emergencies only.
