Deciding to seek counseling is a courageous decision. When we are overwhelmed or hurting, we often do not know where to turn for help. No one is exempt from going through life’s difficulties, whether it’s a personal issue, a marriage problem, a family struggle, or something from the past. North Pointe Church is committed to being a transformational community and helping people find hope, healing, and freedom.
Much of the informal counsel people receive at NPC occurs in the context of discipleship relationships, Small Groups, or with one of our pastors or ministry leaders. We can offer prayer support and give biblical guidance to many situations. However, there are times to call on the professional help of a counselor or therapist.
For formal counseling, and especially therapeutic counseling, there are several great Christian therapists in our area that offer excellent, biblical care. Choosing a counselor is a personal decision, and knowing where to start can be intimidating. Below is a list of counselors & groups in our area that we have had experience with, and while we don’t personally know all of the therapists in the practice or their theological stances, we can confidently suggest any of these would be a good place to start. We hope this list helps you make the best decision for you and/or your family!
