“Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (NIV)
2 Chronicles 20:12

One Minute Message

This verse is from a passage in the Bible in the book of Chronicles which tells of a pivotal victory over the enemies of the children of God. In past battles they had won hard fought battles, but here they were outmatched and outnumbered by their enemies. We see the children of God pray for God’s help, trust in his word, and worship him. As a result, they watch thankfully as the God of heaven’s armies destroys their enemies. Through this dependence on God, the children of God realized a victory they would not have been capable of on their own.

Did you know that God never changes? That means that the God who fought the battles for his children in the 9th Century BC, as we read above, still fights battles for his children today. That means that whenever we are outmatched, outclassed, and outnumbered, we can call upon a God who is for us and not against us; that is, if we have been given the right to be called children of God. Are you a child of God?
