No one willingly subjects themselves to slavery or control. It happens subtly until it grabs hold of us and takes us captive. Sin, false gods, idolatry, addiction, etc all begin the same way. It crept in unnoticed OR we failed to destroy it OR flee it when we had the chance. In Joshua's final speech to Israel he warns them of the very same thing we STILL need to hear today!
